Muros Muralisis an interactive, hands-on muralism summer camp held at the Mexican American Cultural Center. In an effort to uplift female artists who have historically been underrepresented in muralism, this year's camp is exclusively geared towards female teens and led by local artists Andi Sapien and Lezlee Meza.MÁS QUE MUROS Muralism Summer Camp invites students to explore their identity and culture through muralism practices and self-expression. We will explore the power of murals as a tool for personal and collective storytelling. Students will engage in hands-on workshops and activities led by two local artists to conceptualize and create a collaborative mural reflecting on how our placement within the Chihuahuan Desert contributes to our cultural identity as a community while celebrating the abundance that the desert has to offer.
