Build your own ‘Chihua-Chuco-Cruzeña’ style Totebag
Textiles have long been a language of identity, memory, and community across cultures and borders. In this two-hour workshop led by Eugenia "Ao" Carmona, participating artist of the Chihua.Chuco.Cruzeña exhibit, participants of all ages will create their own canvas tote bag featuring a hand-crafted textile design.
Using iron-on adhesive sheets, cutout fabrics, sequins, buttons, pom-poms, and paint, you will design and assemble a one-of-a-kind piece that is entirely your own. To finish, participants will craft a braided strap for their tote.
